The United States FOIA amendment H.4790 expands the Freedom of Information Act to provide public access to motor vehicle driver's information in an electronic format. Paired with the requirement for all US states to store an electronic copy of all valid drivers licenses in their state, a publicly accessible driver's license database search has been formed.
